Sandy is in the kitchen. Kirsten shoots him in the face with cupid’s arrow. Kirsten reveals that Dr. Kim lifted Ryan’s suspension. Kirsten is in a good mood but Sandy is not so keen on Valentines Day. Kirsten then shoots Seth when he walks in and takes a dig about Chrismukka but she rightfully gets told.
Ryan comes in and Kirsten tells him that there will be a big part tomorrow. However nobody else is excited. Roll opening sequence. At school Marissa meets up with him and hugs him. They discuss how they couldn’t sleep. They decide to go to the singles dance that Kirsten is hosting for the hospital. Their interaction is not too good.
Summer is battling away on a games machine. Seth says that he and Anna broke up and wants to know what she is doing. Summer says no way as she doesn’t want to be his second choice. Sandy comes in to get lunch and tells Kirsten he might be a little late to the dance but Kirsten forbids it. Sandy tries to get out of it but Kirsten says no way.
They continue to fight and Kirsten goes out leaving him alone for lunch. Jimmy gets home and finds Marissa. Jimmy has a heart shaped box from a secret admirer. Summer sits around watching TV but Seth turns up at her door. Seth comes in and meets Princess Sparkle. Seth tells Summer that the reason that he and Anna broke up because he has always liked her. She jumps onto his lips.
Summer takes her top off and asks him if he has a condom. Thing’s could be looking up for Seth . Luke turns up at Julie’s house and offers to give Julie a ride to the singles dance but Julie says she is staying at home. She smiles to herself after he leaves. Meanwhile Seth and Summer lie in bed considering what just happened.
Marissa comes into the pool house and starts making out with Ryan and says they have waited long enough but Ryan gets her off him. Marissa leaves quickly. Next day Seth comes in and announces he had sex with Summer. Seth says that he sucked really bad (I don’t mean that literally ;). Ryan says it is weird with him and Marissa too but has a word of wisdom for Seth: “do it again.”
Marissa talks to Summer about what happened and Summer says about her and Seth and how she wishes they had waited. Summer tries to comfort Marissa about her sorrow for not listening to Ryan about Oliver. Sandy comes in but Kirsten is still mad. Seth comes in and asks to talk to Sandy. Kirsten goes to answer the door and Seth says they need to have the talk.
Jimmy arrives and presents Kirsten with a dish of cakes; they are the same as the ones he got in his Valentines box. Kirsten mentions that they are what Hailey used to make. Seth and Sandy have an incredibly painful talk. Sandy talks about foreplay and gets Seth to admit he went with Summer. While setting up for singles night Luke and Ryan talk about if Marissa and Julie are coming. Ryan finds Teresa working.
Seth comes into Summer’s room and asks for another shot. He tries to give her a massage but Summer isn’t interested. She is soon on top of him with her top off. Teresa talks to Ryan about what happened with Oliver. Marissa arrives but when she sees them together she says she will talk to him tonight and runs for it.
Seth comes in and talks to Ryan. He says that Summer poked him in the eye during this time. Summer suggests they dump the event but Marissa says she wants to go to spy on Teresa. Summer is limping as Seth kneed her in the leg. Jimmy turns up at the boat and finds Hailey. Jimmy invites her to go to the restaurant with him.
Sandy turns up at the singles dance but Kirsten is still cold towards him. Teresa comes round serving food and Ryan introduces her to Seth. Summer and Marissa watch on from the upper level. Julie talks to Kirsten and says she is going home as Caleb didn’t turn up. Luke is watching her. Marissa goes over to see Ryan and tries to start over but Ryan says he can’t do it and leaves.
Seth goes over to Summer and says he is going to bow out. At the restaurant Hailey and Jimmy share a drink. Jimmy suggests that she leaves and gets a life but Hailey says she should stay after all, he is here. But Jimmy says they couldn’t. Outside Teresa offers Ryan a cigarette. Sandy sits down next to Marissa and talks to her about Ryan. Kirsten overhears them talking.
Summer and Marissa head off and Sandy spots Kirsten, they seem to make up. Marissa sees Ryan leave with Teresa. At the pool house they talk about their childhood. Teresa says that she has to get back. Luke turns up at Julie’s house again. He says a bunch of not so smooth, smooth talking type of words and Julie kisses him and invites him in.
Kirsten and Sandy return home and Kirsten discovers that Sandy has covered the room in chocolates, rose petals and candles. Seth talks to Captain Oates when Summer comes in and admits he wasn’t the only virgin. They discuss how they rushed into it and Seth suggests that they slow it down a bit. He puts on some music and gets her to dance.
Marissa bursts in and asks where Teresa is as she doesn’t want to loose Ryan. She asks Ryan to just forgive him but Ryan says he is not sure that it won’t happen again. Ryan says doe doesn’t know what they are going to do and Marissa leaves. |

| Analysis |
So who has a vinyl player? You would think with all that money Seth could at least buy a CD player ;). And when did Ryan Adams do Wonderwall? Did Oasis cover him or did he cover Oasis? The questions remain.
This episode didn’t stand out as great although it was fairly entertaining. The Marissa Ryan issue was kind of clouded as I couldn’t help wondering if Marissa had done something slightly different with her hair.
And the Luke Julie thing won’t die despite my wishes. Lots of talk about Oliver though no actually interesting story line. Not the best episode so far. |
