 With a crazy amount of awards under its belt, HBO's The Sopranos is the best known mob drama on TV. Centered around mob boss Tony Soprano and his family and followers, the show as well as being critically acclaimed has taken a lot of heat from Italian American pressure groups on the accuracy and representation of them in the show.
The series was created by David Chase and has quite a list of writing staff. It's awards includes picking up four Emmys in September 2003 and five Golden Globe awards. Pretty impressive.
It stars James Gandolfini as Tony Soprano and the cast list also includes Lorraine Bracco, Edie Falco, Mochael Imperioli, Drea de Matteo, Robert Iler, Jamie-Lynn DiScala to name a few.

David Chase said that series five would definatly be the last - well it is isn't, they are making series six now.
