 British shows don't generally make the cult scene. Our cult TV is pretty much exclusively imported from the States. But every now and then we do get a good cult show an Red Dwarf is one of the shining beacons of this. Not only now a legendary cult show but it's also very, very funny. And anyone who would disagree is a smeghead.
The premise of the show is that Dave Lister was frozen in stasis before a leak caused everyone else to well, die. It took Holly the ships computer a while to get the radiation down to safe background levels. In fact, it took him 3 million years before he released Dave from stasis.
So there yu go, Dave is the last human being alive. But luckily (or maybe unluckily) he was Rimmer to keep him company after Holly brought him back as a hologram. There is also Cat, who is, well, a cat. However with three million years to evolve he is slightly more advanced than your average cat.
