 Joey Pantoliano is the Handler. To be more accurate he plays Joe Renato who is an FBI agent that trains and handles undercover agents in Los Angeles. He is the middle man between the agents and 'the man' and sets up the operations.
Joe has a regular team of agents and colleges including Lily, Darnell, Marcy and Heather. Each time the agents play a different character in whatever situation they are needed in.
The Handler can be seen as one of the new wave of shows to feature on the brains rather than the agents. Think Vaugh from Alias - handler not agent. And CSI, scientists not cops. Nerds shall inherit the earth!
