Fry finds a bag of potato chips and then a hippy van that has been dug up. The Professor points out that there is no more gas – it has not been replaced by whale oil. Bender lifts the can up to the can opener and it shreds him. He is paralysed.
Patch Corn Adams enters and tries to entertain Bender but Bender wants to kick his ass. Bender notices that Beck is in the next bed along. Beck gets Bender to play a basic tune on his chest. Beck invites Bender to become his new wash board player.
Bender heads off in Beck’s tour buss and the rest of the gang follow round in the Volkswagen van. Voidberg’s shell ran and makes all their clothes tie died hippy style. Beck and Bender do their first concert. The gang try to buy something but all the money has been ruined in the wash.
Bender sees some robots getting melted down and destroyed. He and Beck decide to hold a benefit gig for broken robots. The gang come in to Bender’s room to crash. Bender says that he really cares about helping his fellow broken robots, but Bender is ok and he can move again. He is very upset about it. Bender decides to fake being broken.
Amy notices that Zoidberg’s flem are actually beautiful pearls. The concert starts and the van arrives and begins selling love beads. Beck and Bender come on stage and start a song which goes on forever. Bender is given a big cardboard check to start his foundation for broken robots.
Bender says he doesn’t know what to say so decides to sing it. Bender starts dancing around moving his arms and legs. The stage gets stormed when they realise Bender is not broken and Bender escapes in the mini van. Beck chances after them in his tour van. They head for the Golden Gate Bridge but then they remember it is a hover bridge.
The van goes into the river while Bender is catapulted upwards. The folk singers take the check while the gang rows home in the van. |
