The family arrive at a massive toy store. Peter pretends to play the keyboard but someone watches him and when he is done he calls him a great big phoney. Chris and Peter go collect Stewie and take him to where Lois has got him a tricycle. When they get outside to the car that random guy has sprayed the word phoney on Peter’s car.
Neal gives a presentation on why Kirk is better than Picard even though it is not true. Connie comes in and tells everyone that a teacher is getting arrested for teaching kids crackpot theories about evolution and time machines and such. Tom Tucker does a news report at the school and Meg falls in love with him. He slow motion walks out.
That night on the news, she fantasies about him. Outside of the Griffin’s house that guy continues to shout to traffic that Peter is a phoney. Stewie is serving his tricycle and remembers back to when he was a grease monkey. Meg sees an advert for the young anchor internships and decides to apply. Meg his hired due to her not looking good.
Meg is told she and her partner will start tomorrow after school – Neal. The two get a tour of the studio. Meanwhile Peter tries to teach Stewie to ride his tricycle while Lois video tapes it. Lois needs to go in and check on dinner and gives Peter the camera but instead of videoing Stewie he videos a plastic bad blowing in the wind – reference to American Beauty. God or an angel or something shouts down saying that it is just some trash blowing in the wind.
Neal sees Meg admiring Tom Tucker and slits sweetener into his coffee. Stewie has his bike stolen. At the Channel 5 office someone runs in and tells them the notorious mass media murder is on top of city hall. The news reporters send Meg and Neal off to cover the story rather than risking themselves.
The helicopter arrives and lands but the murder comes towards Neal and Meg with a gun and they panic and make comments about their wasted lives. Meg says she has never had a real kiss but Neal kisses her. The murder is about to shoot them but they are saved by Mr. Downs before he flies away.
On the news, Neal shows the footage of Meg and him kissing. Meg starts crying and runs off to her room. Meanwhile Stewie arrives at the station to report the theft of his tricycle. At school, Neal is handing out shirts of a picture of the kissing between Meg and Neal. Neal wonders why he hasn’t leaped by he is told that he can’t until Meg loves him back.
Stewie goes to a gym to work on upper body strength but it scared off by the manager. Meg arrives home to find Neal and his parents have been invited over. Neal’s parents are as strange as Neal. Stewie confronts the bully and catches him in a net before dragging him home.
On the news, Meg gives a special report on how she doesn’t like Neal. Elsewhere Stewie has the bully tied up in the basement. Lois comes in with Stewie’s tricycle. Tom Tucker congratulates Meg on her story and asks her to pick up his dry cleaning as Neal hasn’t been in. He turns up on the news, on top of town hall about to jump.
Meg races to the scene and soon Tome Tucker arrives. The helicopter blows Neal off the roof and he lands on Meg. Neal tells her he wasn’t planning to jump and that guy comes up and starts calling him a phoney. |
