 Breaking the tradition of focusing on a ship that goes exploring, the 3rd installment of versions of Star Trek has never been over popular but did never the less provide some inovation to the Star Trek universe.
First the idea of the space station not belonging to the Federation, despite it being commanded by a Federation planet, told us that there was a world of culture out there just waiting to be writen in.
The station is carefully watched over by Sisko along with his head of security, Odo, O'Brien running the systems and Kira. Other characters include Julian Bashir the Federation doctor and even Worf makes guest appearances.
