Opens outside Dawson’s house as Mitch topples the ladder leading up to Dawson’s window. Dawson says he is in denial about him growing up. They argue about Mitch being paranoid about Dawson having sex with Joey even though Dawson says he isn’t doing anything, yet.
Dawson heads into his room and he and Joey start kissing. However Mitch comes in and interrupts them and Joey is dragged out of the room. Roll opening credits. Next day Joey is getting ready when Bessie asks her to head over to the Ice House as there is a not so surprise inspection planned apparently.
Joey eventually agrees but Bessie piles more on top. Next morning Dawson arrives and moans at Mitch getting the better of him and heading off to school laughing. Gale has a go at Mitch for the open marriage thing but Mitch says it was just an idea. They kiss and Gale heads off though Mitch doesn’t seem all too happy.
At school Abby and Jen walk up and Abby asks questions about who she would rather have sex with but Jen says neither, she reinforces her love of Dawson. Abby tells her she should at least go after Dawson. Andie catches up with Pacey inside and asks to borrow his notes but Pacey points out he didn’t do it.
She continues to freak out and in class, when she is picked on she eventually uses Pacey’s tactic of saying “pass.” It seems to work pretty well. The teacher says they are going to pair up for the assignment this week and prepare an annual budget. Andie is piared up with Pacey. Abby is paired up with Kenny. Dawson is paired up with Jen. Joey is left as a single mother.
At lunch Joey moans at Dawson about the assignment but Dawson remains upbeat. She goes on to say she has no planned future. Joey seems concerned about the partnership but Dawson says she has nothing to worry about. Abby and Jen enter and sit down and Abby says she has to use this to get Dawson back.
Kenny arrives to talk to Abby about the assignment but Abby tries to ignore him. The sun heads down to a beautiful shot of the creek followed by some stock shots of Capeside and then to the restaurant where Jack is moping. Joey takes over when he floods the place. Joey moans about her assignment to Bessie and Bessie says she will help but Joey turns her down.
Andie and Pacey work on the assignment of which they are $30,000 over budget. Pacey wants a Dodge Viper but Andie is taking it more seriously. Andie says they should go find an apartment. Gale gets driven home from work while Mitch watches on. They continue to moan about their relationship problems and Mitch drags them back to the open marriage thing.
At Jen’s house she and Dawson argue over how they are going to put the fictional kids through college. Jen continues to become more affectionate towards him but Dawson decides to head home. Pacey and Andie continue their apartment hunt but Pacey isn’t happy that they haven’t written anything.
Pacey gets really stressed out but Andie almost breaks down and storms off. Joey goes to see someone about it and the woman who is a teacher / interior decorator shows Joey some restaurant floor plans. Joey points out putting the kitchen and the bar at opposite ends is not a good idea. She asks Joey to offer some further consultation.
Jen talks to Abby about nothing happening between her and Dawson. Kenny moans to Abby about her not helping out but Abby shoots him down. Abby tells Jen she needs to go for it as it is her final chance to get Dawson tonight.
That night Mitch comes down to dinner to find Gale lighting candles but Mitch says that he made other plans for Thursday date night. Gale glows out the candles. Dawson and Joey are sitting outside. Joey talks about how cool Laura is and how much she has helped with the project.
Gale heads out and much to Dawson and Joey’s amazement. Joey suggests they take advantage of the lack of supervision but Jen arrives to break them up. Joey leaves and they Jen suggests they do the assignment in Dawson’s bedroom. At the restaurant the two jocks moan about their relationship as a gay couple when Joey arrives.
Joey talks to Bessie about how great Laura is and how she could help them but Bessie is defence and moans about the Health Department coming tomorrow morning. They have an argument about how much Joey does and Bessie ends up sending her home.
Pacey turns up to see Jack and moans about Andie going psycho on him. Jack says that their family used to be loaded but things aren’t so good anymore. Gale is at a bar sitting alone and Mitch turns up at a bar also alone. Back at Dawson’s they finally finish the project. Jen begins to give Dawson as massage but he turns it down.
Jen asks if she can crash here but Dawson says she should go home. Dawson is on to Jen though and confronts her about it. Jen says the old Jen has gone though and kisses Dawson before leaving. Outside of his room though she takes a moment, feeling bad about what she has done or that she failed to get Dawson. I’m not too sure.
That night Mitch and Gale are getting ready for bed. They lie about being alone all night though. Next day Bessie comes home and tells Joey that she is fired. Joey says she didn’t mean what she said but Bessie says she is taking her childhood and it isn’t fair on her. Joey says they are her problems though as they are a team.
In class everyone is handing in their projects and Kenny speaks out against Abby. Andie hands in her half of the project but Pacey turns up at the last minute and hands in the entire project. Dawson tells Joey he is glad the project is over. They kiss more and Jen makes a passing comment at them. Andie catches up with Pacey and thanks him. Pacey says he had to get the Viper in the end.
As they walk past, a face wearing dark glasses is seen in the wing mirror of a car – it’s Tamara. She pulls of the glasses and watches the two walk away as they continue to discuss the project. Fades to credits. |
