Open’s from outside Dawson’s house zooming in on Dawson and Joey kissing at the window. Dawson starts asking a question or two and it kind of spoils the moment. They sit on the bed and start freaking out and decide to sleep on it but there is no much tension and Joey is going to bed home but Dawson pulls her back and they start kissing again.

Roll opening sequence. Opens with a stock shot of the creek and then pictures of Dawson and Joey in their respective beds. Then goes to Mitch in bed waking up to find Gale lying next to him. They start getting it on but Mitch says he has a meeting and gets out of bed.

Bessie turns up in a truck with a flat tyre and questions why Joey is in such a good mood. She gets Joey to start talking about what happened last night. Dawson and Pacey are at the hairdresser and the respective two people begin talking about what happened in a Greece style Sandy, Danny thing.

Pacey says Dawson and Joey have inspired him to change and sets his sights on a senior cheerleader. Pacey decides to go for a new look. Next thing he is in his dads police car with died blonde hair and a pair of cool shades just as Kristy comes walking past. She continues on and he begins to drive after her, going into another car.

The woman gets out and is apologising to Pacey thinking that he is a cop. He starts giving her a big lecture. At school one of the teachers is talking to Joey when Dawson approaches. He almost moves in for the kiss but Joey starts making conversation. She says she may have made the biggest mistake of her life and announces she isn’t going to go to France after all.

Joey is worried she isn’t making the right choice but Dawson says they will be fine. He proposes that they go out on a date. He says the cinema’s final showing is on Saturday and they prepare to kiss when Jen interrupts. She explains how her grandpa died and she heads home, Dawson goes after her.

Later Pacey is talking to his friends about what happened when the girl (Andie) turns up behind her. Kristy walks past and says hi to Andie and Pacey tries to get a ‘hey’ but she ignores him. Andie offers to help him meet Kristy.

Jen turns up at home to find Evelyn sorting out clothes for the church charity drive. Jen doesn’t seem happy about it but Evelyn seems to be handling the death really well. She tells Jen that she was watched him waste away for two years so essentially she had already grieved.

Gale arrives home late and starts making excuses but Mitch says he believes her. She is paranoid about thoughts though. Mitch says he has to go out on an appointment and heads off. At school Pacey stalks in the trees watching Kirsty. Andie walks past saying she is ready to talk to him. Pacey approaches and asks her out and she says yes. Pacey seems a little taken aback.

Mitch seems to be at a courthouse which specialises in divorce. Mitch goes in to see someone. Jen is sat outside and Dawson turns up with some food. He tells Jen he is going to the movies. It gets socially uncomfortable although they decide to renew their friendship and share a hug.

Joey is sat on a peer when Bessie comes and starts questioning Joey about tonight. Joey says that it is going to be weird but Bessie dispenses some quality love advice. Later Joey is preparing while Dawson is riding around on a motor boat, turning up outside Joey’s house. He picks up a flower for Joey and they almost kiss again.

At the cinema Dawson moans about them tearing it down and they continue to do the will they won’t they thing for their second kiss. Outside Pacey is waiting and wondering about Kristy. Inside, Jen turns up and interrupts Dawson and Joey making the situation even more complex. She leaves and Dawson goes after her.

In the lobby, Jen questions Dawson about his new relationship. Jen ends up leaving despite Dawson’s objections and he heads off back into the cinema to find Joey’s seat vacant with the flower lying on it.

Outside Pacey is giving up hope but Kristy finally turns up. She says that she can’t stay though as her boyfriend is waiting in the car. She tells him she thinks she is really brave keeping on with his near fatal heart problems. At the movies everyone is leaving, though Jen is still sat at the back. Evelyn calls over to her and they share a moment about Jen having no friends.

Pacey turns up to see Andie who tells him she made up a heart stripe. She gives Pacey some stuff to sort his hair out. Back at home Gale confronts Mitch about lying and going to see a lawyer. Dawson turns up at the peer to find Joey. They walk along the river and finally share a second kiss. Dawson says they are tearing down the Rialto to build a bigger and better cinema. They share another kiss.
Quotes
Pacey: “I thought you were going to drag out this will they won’t they for at least another few years because you know Sam and Diane didn’t get together for at least four series and Moulder and Skully they haven’t even kissed”

Andie: “Perhaps you should try barking up a different tree”
Pacey: “And perhaps you should stop barking altogether”

Pacey: “There once was a girl named Kristy. The thought of her nude makes me misty. A night on the town, we’ll both go get down and by the end of the date she’ll have kissed me”

Joey: “Or Joey half of the will they, won’t they couple of the century”
Analysis
It’s good to see that the opening sequence still as Paula Cole – I don’t want to wait on. I was waiting a version on Channel 5 a few weeks back and it had a totally different song (that was series 1 though and I know the region 2 DVD has Paula Cole on series 1 so I figured it’s some other region or something).
Notes
The region 1 DVD is weird. It has animated sequences at the start, new people on the box, it’s all so scary!

The top quote by Pacey is a reference obviously to the X-Files but also to Cheers (Sam and Diane).

Oh god, what did they do to the ending music? The track from series one was classic Dawson’s Creek, they should never have changed that!
