Dawson is channel hopping when Joey climbs into the window. Joey says her sister’s baby is a nightmare. Dawson rambles on about the nice guy who used to get the girl but no longer does however when he turns round he finds Joey asleep. The theme music kicks in and it fades to opening credits.
Next day Mitch and Gale share comments in the kitchen but are on edge. They discuss how their counselling session. Dawson comes down but tries to ignore them. Pacey talks to a hobo about how boring the town is. Pacey nearly gets run over by a guy in a sporty car. He asks for directions to Capeside. Pacey offers to go with him but the guy says no.
Joey is trying to get ready but is hindered by the human alarm clock. Later Dawson helps Joey out cramming for her Spanish. She asks him about him and Jen and he says things are going great. Jen arrives and they discuss bowling. But Jen gets distracted by the guy that walks in. She goes over to him after Dawson leaves and reveals his name is Billy.
He is apparently the one that she slept with in New York. Dawson and Joey appear to be watching them from the shadows. He asks her to come for a ride with him and she eventually goes. Cliff arrives and asks him to invite Jen to a barbeque. He then invites Dawson although quickly leaves when he is told Jen is dating him.
Mitch is still angry and Gale as they discuss activities. Jen talks to Billy and asks him to leave. Billy asks her to find him a place to crash. Dawson arrives and interrupts. Jen asks if Billy can crash for the night. Jen admits he is the guy but that it is over. Later Billy talks to Dawson in his room. Billy tells him he isn’t going to leave until Jen is back with him. Dawson gets tense but Billy says it is just a joke.
Dawson goes to talk to Joey and she tells him that it will blow over eventually. Later Dawson talks to Jen about the situation and they end up arguing and Dawson ends up leaving. Joey turns up at the video store and asks Pacey for a movie and they discuss Dawson’s situation. Pacey says Joey wants Billy to drive a wedge between them.
Mitch and Gale come back arguing about their diving lesson. Dawson listens from his room. At the restaurant Joey is swamped with work. Pacey invites Joey out tonight to a beach party. Joey says no but Bessie tells her to go and Pacey drags her off. Mitch goes to talk to Dawson and tells him that all relationships have hurt but the trick is to get through it.
Billy talks to Jen and Jen says he has to go but Billy asks for one last kiss. She agrees and gives him a quick kiss before walking off. At the party Joey and Pacey hang around. Pacey goes off to try and score and Dawson appears to speak to Joey. Dawson suggests they hid the video store and heads off to get some drinks. Jen arrives and talks to Dawson and tries to explain but Dawson kisses him.
They go off to talk while a guy comes over and offers Joey a drink. She accepts when he points out Dawson is hitting the beach with Jen. Billy arrives and tells them what happened and says to Jen that that kiss meant something. Meanwhile Pacey tries to stop Joey as she is drinking heavily. However she goes off with the guy that hit on her.
On the beach they continue to argue and Jen ends up walking off when she is told to decide between Dawson and Billy. Joey is dancing on the beach but Pacey tries to stop her. Pacey ends up knocking the guy down while Dawson arrives just as Joey falls to the floor. Pacey and Dawson take her home but Pacey wakes the baby. He tries to quieten the kid down while Dawson talks to Joey as she sleeps.
Joey grabs him and kisses him while Pacey tells Alexander, the baby, a story. Pacey and Dawson leave. At home Mitch and Gale start dancing while Dawson and Pacey row across the creek. Pacey points out that Dawson was in love with him but Dawson doesn’t see it. Dawson arrives home to find Billy packing. He leaves but tells Dawson to treat her right or he will be back to for her.
Dawson sees Jen outside and goes down to see her. Dawson says they can go back to the way they were. However Jen says that it is over between them too as she has to try life on her own. Dawson says some things and then leaves. Fades to credits. |
