Opens with school scene Willow, Cordelia, Xander and Oz come out for lunch ready for a picnic with Buffy which she has prepared. She tells them her and her mother are meeting with Snyder tomorrow. Willow mentions that Scott likes Buffy. He comes over and he and Buffy share a ‘hey’ but then he leaves. Buffy says she just wants to do normal stuff to get her life back.
A stretched limo arrives at a burger drive-thru. Inside are Mr. Trick and someone else. Mr. Trick is told that they are here for one thing only – to kill the slayer. Mr. Trick turns to a vampire and grabs the burger worker for a feast.
Roll opening sequence. Buffy is dancing with Angel. She drops her ring and Angel goes to pick it up. It then goes to the moment where Buffy sent Angel to hell and back to the dance seen, blood leaks from her hand where she is holding the wring. Angel turns into a demon just before Buffy wakes up.
At the meeting Snyder tells Buffy to get back in she must have a meeting with the psychiatrist, a letter of recommendation from a staff member who isn’t Giles and pass all the courses she skipped out on. Joyce and Buffy leave while Snyder gets all from the Major.
Giles says he is working on a binding spell to make sure the dimensional vortex and Willow offers to help but Giles says only with the research. Buffy goes off to take an English exam. Giles questions Willow on what she has been playing around with in terms of magic.
At the Bronze Buffy brings Willow and Oz drinks. Scott turns up on Willow’s invitation. He asks her to dance but ends up going to wait for Buffy on the dance floor. Buffy sees a vampire taking a girl out and goes to help her. She has an awkward moment with Scott. They find the girl outside but she kicks the vampire’s ass and introducers herself as Faith. Oz makes the guess she is a new slayer.
Later Faith tells some stories about her life and how she and Buffy are going to have fun. In the library Faith is almost hitting on Giles and she goes off to hang out with Willow and Xander after Giles tells them about missing people. Willow and Xander give Faith the tour of everything that happened at the school. Faith and Scott meet in the corridor and seem to get along.
Elsewhere Mr. Trick is talking about all the technology to the demon creature. Apparently the demon wants revenge on Buffy. There is a knock at the door; it is food – a pizza delivery boy. That night at dinner Joyce talks to Faith. In the kitchen Buffy says she doesn’t like Faith much but everyone else does.
That night on patrol Buffy and Faith start facing off but are interrupted by a gang of vampires. Faith really likes the fighting and keeps punching one rather than staking him. Next day Buffy moans to Giles about Faith while Giles fantasies about what it would be like to be invited to the Watchers retreat. Buffy goes to talk to Faith about Kakistos and in the corridor Scott asks her out and she accepts.
He gives her a friendship ring and she freaks out as it reminds her of Angel. Scott says he gets it and leaves. Giles tells Buffy that Faith’s watcher is dead and Buffy heads over to Faith’s new place in the poor side of town. Faith is packing again and Buffy gets it out of here that Kakistos killed her. Outside Mr. Trick and friends turn up for Faith. They run for it and the vampires give chase.
Buffy and Faith finally kick Kakistos’s ass as Mr. Trick abandons him. Next day Buffy tells Giles what happened then admits Angel was cured when she sent him to hell. Later Buffy goes to talk to Scott and they arrange to go out. That night Buffy heads to the place where she killed Angel and places the ring on the floor. She leaves and after she is gone it begins to shake and Angel falls onto the ground from nowhere. |
